We know a strong relationship between teachers and children is the foundation of an early childhood classroom. Our teachers forge a bond with each family. We know from research that social-emotional emotional skills are the foundation for academic success in elementary school. We make this emotional connection by:

• Beginning as early as infancy teaching children to express their wants and needs through sign language
• Transitioning to words between the ages of one to two years old
• The result leads to emotional recognition and self-regulation in the preschool years

We know the strong emotional foundation quickly translates into strong behavioral skills. Our goal is for children to be able to form strong relationships with peers and adults, manage conflict kindly and confidently. Each of our teachers receives guidance in support in how to teach behavioral concepts, such as:

• Fair ways to play including sharing and trading
• Recognizing the need for space
• How to initiate and manage relationships

We believe the body and mind are dependent upon the food we eat and the physical activity we participate in. To promote a healthy lifestyle we:

• Aim to expose your child to a variety of healthy foods
• Incorporate teaching kids to cook, garden and eat healthy in our
  curriculum
• Keep our children moving throughout the day through a variety of ways

We value the importance of growing an understanding of right and wrong, and the change in behavior caused by that understanding. Our goal is to:

• Influence the children and help them understand the important building blocks of character
• Apply those lessons in situations that are meaningful to their lives
• Promote areas of character building such as politeness, sharing, and honesty
